A flat-lot builder can get surprised by a Western North Carolina site — the grade, the rock, the driveway, the water, the drainage. After 25 years of building here, we plan for all of it before you're committed, so the budget you approve is the budget you live with.
Driveway, septic or sewer, well or tap, rock, retaining walls, erosion control. The line items that blindside people get priced up front — before you buy the lot, if you'd like.
You won't be handed off between a salesperson, a coordinator and a super who's never seen your plans. The person who quotes your build is the person who runs it.
Allowances are set with numbers you can actually build to. If something needs to change, it's priced and approved in writing before anyone picks up a tool.
The same framers, electricians, plumbers and tile setters, job after job — and they're still reachable after you move in.
Whether you're building from scratch on a mountain lot or reworking a house you already love, the same crew and the same standards apply.
Fully custom, built to your plans on your land — site work through final punch list, managed by one builder.
Starting with a napkin sketch instead of drawings? We'll bring in design partners or work directly with your architect.
Whole-home remodels, primary suite additions, garages, bonus rooms and porches — done to new-build standards.
The room your build gets judged on. Cabinetry, stone, lighting and appliance integration detailed properly.
Tile set right, waterproofing done right, and fixtures that still look right in ten years.
Steep grades, long drives, big views. The hard sites other builders quietly pass on.
Recent builds in Lake Lure, Tryon, Hendersonville, Waynesville, Weaverville and Asheville — finished homes, framing, and the site work underneath it. Click any photo to open it full size.
Building a home is probably the largest check you'll ever write. Here's exactly what happens, and what you get at each stage.
A free, no-pressure conversation about your vision, your lot and your budget. We'll walk the property with you — even one you haven't bought yet.
We work from your drawings or bring in design partners, then price the real scope — site work and allowances included, not glossed over.
Permits, engineering, utility coordination and the trade schedule all get handled before anyone breaks ground.
Site work, foundation, framing, dry-in, mechanicals, finish. Regular photo updates and site visits whenever you want them.
We walk the finished house together and build the punch list. Nothing is "close enough" — it gets fixed before you take the keys.
You move in, and we're still here. Warranty items get handled by the same people who built the house.
Bring the listing, the plat, or just an address. We'll tell you what it will actually take to build there — no charge, no obligation.
There's no honest single number, and any builder who gives you one over the phone is guessing. On a mountain lot the site can drive the budget as hard as the house: driveway length and grade, rock, septic versus sewer, well versus tap fees, foundation type, retaining walls and drainage.
What we'll do instead is walk your lot, look at your plans, and give you a real itemized number for your project — not a per-square-foot average borrowed from somewhere flat.
Most fully custom homes run roughly 10–16 months from breaking ground to move-in, with design and permitting ahead of that. Steep sites, long driveways, custom millwork and long-lead materials push it out.
You'll get a schedule in writing before we start, and you'll hear from us when something moves — not three weeks later.
No — and honestly, before you buy is the best time to call. We'll walk a property with you while you're still under contract and tell you what it will cost to build on it, so a cheap lot doesn't turn into an expensive surprise.
Yes. Bring your architect's drawings, a stock plan you bought online, or a folder of screenshots. We build from your plans, work alongside your architect or designer, or bring in design partners if you're starting from nothing.
Yes. Hillside foundations, retaining and site walls, long or steep driveways, drainage and erosion control, engineered decks — that's normal work here, not an exception we charge extra to think about.
Allowances get set with real numbers you can actually build to, rather than low placeholders that quietly blow up at selection time. If something needs to change mid-build, it's priced and approved in writing first. The number you approve is the number you pay.
Twenty-five-plus years in construction. That matters most in the parts of a build you never see — knowing which sites drain badly, which subs actually show up, and what a plan is going to cost to frame before anyone picks up a pencil.
